Over 30 crore Indian's go to sleep partly or fully hungry. Media time and again report the huge stock of food grains, enough to feed the entire population of this country for a year, rottening in the yards, another equal quantity being eaten by rodents,not to speak of the pilferage caused by the corrupt establishment.We have a Central Ministry for Distribution of Food, State governments and a scheme of Public Distribution(PDS) through ration cards. No machinery is effective.
Hunger is the cruelest of all vices. I have been a victim. I know hunger.
I believe in Jesus, proud of being a Christian. But I do not understand why there is hunger in the world when majority of humans are church goers. People spend a fortune to visit holy places and make offerings. Reflect Jesus's sayings :
"Love your neighbour as you love yourself " - your neighbour may be hungry while you are heading for your pilgrimage.
Tell your child to spare a rotti for the hungry. Amen !
