Chakku - our grandson is down with fever. I am restless. It is he who decides my activities. He makes me laugh over his one liner shoots. He makes me forget all my apprehensions about the life after retirement. Appacha... Mei Hoom Na.... His innocent assurance gives me a reason to be pleasing always.
Today, I saw Soy Joseph's post on his facebook page, he lost his "Ammachi" (Grandma) on 1st Oct 2014. I spoke to him over phone. Soy, a soft spoken -lovely but strong person, was full of unsaid emotional words when he spoke abou his " sweetest ammachi" with whom he spent his childhood. May his Ammachi smile through his life, even though she has set for her heaveny voyage.
"Ammachi" is not just a person, but a phenomenon. I can see it down here. She has all the world's time and eneregy for her "Muthu Mon" (Chakku). No matter, she may be still the Manager of the Kitchen, the most soughtafter chef for all six of us, all her knee pains, back aches, intermittant head-aches side-steps the moment she hears his call "Ammmmachhhheeeee......." with both his hands up in the air, an obvious innvitation for a pick up. He gets angry with a scream if any one other than "Ammachi" attends to his demand and tries to pick him up.
Ammachi runs with a PT Usha stride from wherever she is, I wonder, from where she gets her energy charged, if not 'love' -unconditional.
I am sure, many of us have gone through this "sneha theeram" (bank of stream of love), if not, have simply missed it - an eternal loss.
